field of dreams

I love this picture, but we look so bored :) Anyway, I titled this "field of dreams" because this photoshoot was intended to take pictures of Savannah's kimonos. We both have a lot at stake right now, and we are putting everything into blogging and making stuff. We love it though. Savannah recently wrote about how she figured out what she wanted to do with her life. She had an "aha moment" if you will. I guess you could say that I've had an aha moment myself. I'm a registered nurse and I could really get into all of that here, but I won't. Let's just say that nursing doesn't appear to be what my dreams are made of. I have no idea how nursing fits into my life plan. But if you asked me what's the first thing I want to do when I wake up in the morning, I'd tell you that I want to do some gardening and blogging and to help other people be better. I'm not interested in making a lot of money. I just want to live simply and enjoy God's creation. I recently told a financial advisor that I wasn't interested in accumulating a lot of wealth and that I just want to be a hippie farmer and live on a commune. I'm sure he thought I was crazy.

My dreams of living on a commune are very close to coming true. Our friends Josh & Allison just got back from a year long trip to Haiti where they were teachers for missionary kids. They are some of our most favorite people in the world and we have rented their house while they are gone. Luckily, they have a basement apartment and they are moving in there at the first of July. We are ecstatic!! We call our little home here, Joyce Lane Farms. We have chickens, flowers, vegetables, and we will have bees very soon. It's a magical place that is rooted in a mutual love of Christ and community. We have big dreams for Joyce Lane Farms as the four of us are all big dreamers. More to come on that.

So in a field on a Thursday we took pictures to help fulfill a dream to create beautiful things...
