nothing good dwells in me

  1. "For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out."
  2. Romans 7:18

This scripture is simultaneously scary and freeing. It's terrifying to think that nothing good comes from my flesh but equally comforting to remember that I actually desire to do what is right and that God will be the one to carry that out through me. This is very freeing for someone like me, who is sometimes paralyzed by wanting to make the right decision. I just can't do it on my own, but I don't have to.

  2. I love this. Such a terrifying reality, but overwhelming relief to know God has it all.
"...paralyzed by wanting to make the right decision"
This has been much of my life. I guess as you grow older you realize life isn't all about making the "right decision," but about learning from the mistakes.

It's been a long time since I've been back on here and I see it's changed a bit. I'm loving it!
