Some of you may or may not know, but I do graphic design work (among other things). I do a lot of blog design work but I also do many other things. I majored in art so I basically like to do a variety of artsy things and learn new mediums and such. Anyways, I have a portfolio online to show a sample of the things I do but recently I needed a physical portfolio. It just so happened that at the same time, Staples sent us a printer- the HP Photosmart 6520. So I decided to print my own portfolio at home with the printer. It's kind of hard to see the details of my portfolio below but, you can get a general idea of what it looks like.
As far as the printer goes... I really like it. For my portfolio, it was perfect. There was no complicated set up or special directions for printing on 8.5" x 11" photo paper. But, when we first got the printer, we tried it out immediately. It was really difficult to print on a 4" x 6" piece of photo paper. It took us forever to figure it out but, we did! I think there was something wrong with whatever program we were using. If you will be printing smaller pictures, you will need to print from a photo application to make it easier. I will say, pictures printed from this printer look pretty awesome and it prints pretty quickly.
If you would like to see my portfolio work in a better way, check it out online.

How do you get design work for doing blog designs? It's an area of design I've never done apart from doing it for myself. But I'd like more practice at it!
