3 Ways to Wave Your Hair Using a Curling Iron

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hot Tools. All opinions are 100% mine.
Hello there! Today we are showing you how you can curl your hair 3 different ways using 1 curling iron- the Hot Tools Signature Series 1 inch curling iron. If you're like me, you didn't even realize there were so many different ways to curl your hair with just one curling iron! But it can be done. And it's a good thing for us because we love variety.
My favorite thing about the Hot Tools Signature Series 1 inch curling iron is that it has different heat settings for different types of hair. You can turn the heat up or down based on your hair needs. And bonus, it's a great gift for the beauty lover in your life! Or really anyone who likes to do their hair.
And you should probably get one for yourself. You can find the Signature Series at Walmart or Amazon, so I'd say it's pretty accessible!
Anyway, let's get down to it.
1. Traditional Curling. The first way to curl your hair is using the curling iron the traditional way. Watch this video to achieve this look. This is a more polished curl, and you can make it more tousled by curling smaller sections of hair and using a texturized spray.
2. Wand Curling. The second way is to use the curling iron like a wand. This gives you more waves/curls on each piece of hair/ you are getting a tighter curl. This is kind of like a mixture between #1 + #3. It's a not as beachy as #3 and not as polished as #1. Our friend Ashley has a tutorial on this here.
3. "S" Wave Curling. The third way takes a little time to master, but is probably my favorite way- the S wave. To me this is the true "beach wave." What I like about this curl is that if you scrunch your hair while it's wet and dry it with a diffuser, you can just choose a few pieces to curl like this when it's dry. The result is a little messy but effortless. To me this curl is less polished and more cool. My hairstylist recently told me this was "the cool girl wave." Watch the video below to see how to create this wave.
What is your favorite curl out of all 3 styles? I think it's fun to try all 3 styles and change it up every now and then. But at this very moment, the "S" wave is my go-to.
